Altitude matters on a Littleton Thermador
Littleton sits near 5,350 feet, and gas ranges behave differently up here than at the sea-level bench where they were factory-set. Thinner air means less oxygen per unit of gas, so burners that were never calibrated for altitude can run lazy, yellow-tipped, or sooty even when nothing is broken.
Thermador ranges use fixed orifices sized for the gas type, and while the burners themselves don't require re-jetting for our elevation, the low end of the range, especially ExtraLow, is far more sensitive to a slightly rich or lean mixture at altitude. Our dry Front Range air also hardens burner and oven-door gaskets faster, which shows up as heat loss and slow preheat.
